Ferrata Tavolara Island

The climb to Tavolara Island via the ferrata route is a scenic and adventurous hike. The path, across rocky terrain and brief exposed sections, with a final equipped stretch, leads to the summit offering breathtaking views of the sea and coastline.

ferrata di tavolara, Sardegna

Everything begins with a boat crossing, gliding over the crystal-clear waters that separate Tavolara from the coast. The island rises majestically from the sea, a wall of rock that seems to challenge the sky. The ascent to Punta Cannone is a vertical journey through sharp cliffs, scents of Mediterranean scrub, and ever-widening panoramas. Feet glide over the rock, hands search for solid holds, and the heart beats faster. The final section, secured with cables, adds a rush of adrenaline to the experience. At the summit, suspended between sky and sea, every step finds its meaning. The descent follows the same route.

MEETING POINT & APPROACH

The meeting point is the parking area in Porto San Paolo, from where the ferry to Tavolara Island departs. The hike begins from the harbor, leading into the Mediterranean scrub, crossing over some rocky sections and fixed ropes, until reaching the actual via ferrata.
